I guess you heard about the country called Sweden?
A country famous for their good looking blonde girls, IKEA and the vikings.

Nowadays the vikings aint plundering the villages nomore, IKEA is still doing the same shitty furnitures and the good looking blonde girls cant afford their make-up because of the financial world crisis. So what the hell does Sweden have to offer nowadays? Well, still we got the music-scene. Forget about ABBA, their days are over but no need to cry, Sweden got a lot of new talented artists who will blow your brains out. HIGH HATS is one of the artists that just popped up out of nowhere making the kids scream for love backstage and the magazine editors wonder how they have missed this band.

Their debutalbum “Too much is never enough” was released 2 years ago and directly won a prize for the best independent rock album in Sweden. After that recognition they were booked all over Sweden on all important clubs and festivals. The jury was stunned over High Hats sound. “Their melodic pop-punk, (the perfect mix between Ramones and Beach Boys) makes everyone wanna dance and party. An album consisting of pure smash hits, not one single bad song”

They went out on a 5 week tour all over Europe and played everywhere from Spain to Latvia.
The year of 2008 was intense and hectic for High Hats and since they were touring all the time there were no time for girlfriends, family or going into the studio to record their new album. After the hectic year of 2008 it was time to press the stop button on the High Hats-machine. For the first time ever High Hats and their management took the decision to lay low for a while and not take any live-gigs for a while and focus on going into the studio.

It was a hard decision to cancel the festival gigs during the summer of 2009 but boy....it was worth it. The new album is now ready to be mastered and High Hats is ready to conquer Europe again.

A minitour consisting of 10 dates in Germany in September will be followed up by a massive european tour together with popchicks Baby Shakes from New York in November/December.

Appointed with no job, car, money or prospect but a shitload of boredom and post-teenage angst and anger, three geezers and a lass from sleepy town Heidelberg made a move and created a rock’n’roll animal they called the Memphis Bitch***



Quickly they found themselves wrapped up in a drunken haze of chords, beats and frantic sounds so they did the only responsible thing and shared their music with the world. After only 3 weeks hidden away in a damp cellar, they played a first gig at a local bar and now some 2 years later they are on their way to conquer the world of taste and style with their unique blend of Punk, Garage and Gutter Pop…

Their explosive mindset, combined with an insane belief in the power of self destruction and intoxication results in vibrant and hectic, but glorious live shows that will blow your mind and leave no one unaffected whether you’re an old school Punk or modern Garage lover. If you are wondering what this outfit sounds like, think of The Ramones, The Makers, The Sonics or The Exploding Hearts, but always conjoint with the melodic frame of bands like the The Strokes or The Only Ones.
