Es ist Sommer, es ist warm. Darüber freuen wir uns alle! Und falls es zu heiß sein sollte, ist uns das auch scheißegal. Denn dank des neuen Gartens könnt ihr einfach draußen abfeiern. Wir freuen uns auf euch. Der Eintritt im Garten ist frei und wir haben zwei feine Bands mitgebracht. Absolute Geheimtipps, die es bald nicht mehr sein werden. Vergesst Jack Johnson, der wohnt eh zu weit weg.

Wir haben nach Holland geguckt. „Chef’Special“. Klingt lecker? Ist auch so, appetitanregender entspannter Indiefolkpop, mit Reggaeelementen. Und vorher noch etwas tolles aus Heidelberg, ein Eigengewächs direkt aus dem Garten, im Garten: „Sparrow“. Ein Mann und eine Frau. Akustisch, emotional, einfühlsam, was will man mehr?

Nachdem Sparrow draußen gespielt haben, geht es ab 22 Uhr dann drinnen weiter, zuerst mit Chef’'Special und dann mit Man & Machine, die solange machen, bis keiner mehr stehen, geschweige denn tanzen kann.

Chef’Special guarantees a night full of jumping people, sweaty shirts and smudged make-up. The crowd will be happily sucked into a vibe of pure carelessness. This band is a true festival cracker with a pumping live show. The Haarlem-based ‘Cheffies’ serve a musical mix of Hiphop, reggae, funkrock and a pinch of pop, from relaxing grooves to heavy guitar solo’s. Their sound can be compared to bands such as the Roots, G. Love and RHCP.

After the band was named 3FM Serious Talent in January 2011 the guys played many radio shows at among others Giel Beelen en Michiel Veenstra. Not long after the band played at the prestigious Noorderslag Festival at which the same Giel Beelen called: “2011 the year of Chef’Special”. Chef’Special was further more guest at De Wereld Draait Door where host Matthijs van Nieuwkerk guest performed in the video ‘Too Far Gone’. In March 2011 Chef’Special released their debut album ‘One For The Mrs.’. The album is an ode to the old and colourful Volkswagen in which the band has been touring since 2008.

It was this same band bus that faithfully helped Chef’Special through their Summer Holiday along the coasts of France and Spain in 2008. The roadtrip with the Mrs. was the ultimate baptism that made Chef’Special into a band. The Cheffies have been conquering Europe a bit at a time ever since, with the rest of world to follow!
